Some bad news, a spammer joined our network and manually sent out 81 DP messages to our users. The message is some plea for money do to the death of something or other - I didn’t read the message and neither should you. We are tremendously sorry about this - I guess the second you get a little popular you have to deal with spammers.

Again, I’m so sorry you were inconvenienced with that garbage, I personally can’t believe anyone would waste their time sending out 81 messages manually. I’m going to update Designer Pages with Akismet which should help prevent spam like this in the future.

Update: I’ve implemented Akismet. That should help a bit in the future. Additionally, I’ll be adding a message rate limit, so that if some spammer tries to send more then a certain amount of messages at a time - we’ll disable that account pending review. We’re really trying to keep this community professional and friendly.

Also, if privacy and notifications bother you, feel free to update your settings.
If you go to your settings, you’ll see a link on the left for privacy and notifactions. There you can control who can send you messages and when Designer Pages notifies of events, like receiving a new message.
