Less is More

Happy New Year’s community! Hope you all had as great a night as I did last night. And may I add that I rarely enjoy New Year’s Eve. It’s one of those nights that historically nothing ever goes the way I want. That’s why this years saying was ‘less is more,’ credited to Miss Miri Listokin, a wise New York City local.

I am no stranger to this verse, as it was mounted above the chalkboard in my fifth grade classroom. It’s funny even saying that since I haven’t seen a chalkboard in a classroom in many years. Now everyone’s got one of those fancy dry erase marker boards such as eraserite by walltalkers.

Anyways, my ‘less is more’ celebration was a good old-fashioned house party on the Upper West Side with a kitchen the size of my bedroom. Good company, some yummy cocktails, a tasteful cigar, and home baked chocolate chip cookies… that’s how I welcomed in my new year. And to top that all off, just after midnight we were gifted with a perfect view of fireworks over the East River.

So how might we take the ‘less is more’ attitude and frame a Designer Pages pep talk? Here’s how… I thought I’d congratulate everyone for being part of what is now the fourth most trafficked product search website in architecture and design (according to some fancy Alexa statistics). If you’re reading this post, you’re partially responsible for making this community so great. So thank you for being you.

Let’s all toast to a BIG 2008… cheers!
